The Contributor Sidebar was retired on September 30, 2024 and is no longer supported. It has been replaced by the UserVoice Feedback Extension.
What the Contributor Sidebar Did
The Contributor Sidebar was a browser bookmarklet that let admins and contributors capture customer feedback from any web page or app and link it to ideas in UserVoice. It could also be used to look up a customer's previous feedback and view status updates.
Switch to the Feedback Extension
The Feedback Extension does everything the sidebar did, plus more:
- Highlight text on a page to capture it as feedback
- Upload attachments with feedback
- AI Smart Search to match feedback to existing ideas
- Add an Importance Rating
- Switch easily between multiple UserVoice domains
To install it:
- Admins: Go to Settings → Extensions, click the Chrome Web Store link, and add the extension to your browser.
- Contributors: In the Contributor Console, click your name (top-right) → Install Extension.
Any feedback your team captured with the sidebar stays in UserVoice, so nothing is lost when you switch.
