This article is intended to explain what notifications are available to all users, but primarily end-users. Each user can turn off or on their own notification, but admins are not able to choose what notifications a user gets. Default settings for these notifications are notated.
Notifications for Status Updates
With this setting turned on, users on your web portal will receive email notifications of new status updates on ideas they create, vote, or have been subscribed to by default.
Note: Any user has the option to disable status updates email notifications universally.
Notifications for New Comments
Users will receive notifications of new comments on ideas that they have voted on by enabling this setting on their web portal.
However, the an admin can change this setting for new users by going to Settings -> Ideas -> Enable comment notifications by default.
When this setting is enabled in the admin console, new users (does not work retroactively) in UserVoice will have the above box checked and will receive notifications of new comments on ideas they have voted on without having to enable the setting themselves.
Comment notifications will go out 10 minutes after the comment is made, to give the end-user time to make any changes to their comment.
Notifications for Idea Submission Confirmation
By default, users will receive Auto-Reply emails after submitting a new idea to a forum where an auto-response email is set up. Users can toggle this setting off if they no longer wish to receive auto-reply emails after submitting new ideas to forums. See more information about Auto-Reply emails here.
Notifications for Request for Feedback
By default, users will receive Outreach emails for when admins initiate an Outreach campaign. If the user does not wish to be contacted in this manner, they can toggle this setting "off". See more information about Outreach campaigns here.
It is not recommended to unsubscribe from status updates through email, as this will unsubscribe you from all UserVoice emails. Simply update your email notification setting by toggling the setting "off".
