When capturing feedback from your customers, set up notifications to know when their idea(s) has been updated so that you can help close the loop with your customer!
How Contributor Notifications work
When an idea is updated with a new public status, UserVoice will send an email to the Contributors and Admins who captured feedback on an idea. You can see which Contributors or Admins will be notified by viewing the Users panel, then clicking "Contributors" underneath.What's included in the email?
The public status notification email for Contributors and Admins who captured feedback on an idea will include the following information for each piece of feedback you have captured.- The status update and message
- Ability to react to the status update via upvote/downvote
- Text of the feedback that you captured from the customer
- Customer's name and email address
How to change your notification preferences
Contributors and Admins who use the sidebar will receive these notifications by default, as they have been opted in to being subscribed. You can disable your notifications in your profile settings. To access your profile settings in the Contributor Console, click your name in the top-right hand corner -> Select " Profile Settings". This will navigate you to the Settings in the Web Portal where Admins & Contributors can opt-out of this notification preference.The notification email itself will also contain an unsubscribe link to update your notification preferences at the footer of the email.
Contributor Insights Email
Contributors can also sign up for a monthly insights email. This email showcases the top 3 most voted on ideas that have had a status updates in the last month, as well as, the top 3 ideas that you, the contributor, has captured that has had a status update in the last month.
To turn this on/off, you can find this in your web portal settings -> "Contributor Insights Email Subscription" -> Toggle Receive monthly email.
Common Questions
Q. Why am I not receiving Contributor notification emails?A. If you have not disabled these notifications (as outlined above), check your spam folder and any filters that could catch messages from UserVoice. You may also need to check with your IT team about other filters that could be blocking these emails.
Q. Can I send contributor notifications for past status updates?
A. No, there is not a way to send notifications for status updates that have already happened.
Q. Can I get notifications for comments on these ideas?
A. Not at this time. Please add your vote to the idea we have for this!
Q. Can I customize the Contributor notifications that are sent?
A. These emails are not customizable.
Q. Can I subscribe to notifications for specific ideas?
A. You can vote on an idea, like a typical end-user, to receive communications as a subscribed user.
