UserVoice makes it easier to keep your ideas organized with AI-powered recommended labels. Labels help you group related ideas together, making it simple to analyze trends, prioritize requests, and keep your product feedback clean.
With the recommended labels feature, our AI engine suggests labels for you—based on the ones you’ve already created and applied.
The AI Package is available as an add-on in UserVoice Discovery.

How it works
-
Start with manual labels
- To “teach” the AI, you’ll need to manually apply labels to at least 5 ideas per label.
- For example, if you create a label called Integrations, you’ll want to tag at least 5 ideas related to integrations before recommendations begin.
- See more here about Internal Labels
-
Choose which labels are eligible
- Not every label has to be part of the recommendation system.
- You can select which labels (and nested labels) should be included in the recommendation engine in the settings for Labels.
- This ensures that only the most meaningful or strategic labels are used for auto-suggestions, while one-off or internal-use labels remain manual.
-
AI begins recommending
- Once your chosen labels meet the 5-idea minimum, our AI engine will start scanning new and existing ideas to suggest when that label might apply.

Approve or deny recommendations
- Recommendations will appear in two places:
- Idea Grid: You’ll see suggested labels next to ideas, allowing you to quickly approve or deny multiple at once.
- Idea Detail Page: When viewing a specific idea, suggested labels appear in the label section.
- To take action:
- ✅ Click the check mark button to apply the recommended label.
- ❌ Click the X button to decline the recommendation.
- Declined labels will be dismissed for that idea, while approved ones will be added to the idea immediately.

Improve accuracy over time
- The more consistently you apply labels and act on recommendations, the more accurate the AI becomes.
- You can refine your setup anytime by adjusting which labels are included or excluded from recommendations.
Best practices for using labels
- Be consistent: Use a clear naming convention (e.g., “Mobile App” instead of “app ideas”).
- Use nested labels thoughtfully: Group related labels under a parent (e.g., Integrations → Salesforce, Slack, Jira) so recommendations stay organized.
- Limit what you include: Only enable recommended labels for categories that help you analyze customer needs at scale.
- Review regularly: Check your label set every few weeks to merge duplicates or retire ones you no longer need.
