Need to know which of my ideas, existing in a specific forum and category, have support from specific accounts? Conversely, which of my ideas are not supported by specific accounts? Or which of my ideas has more than X number of votes in a specific period of time? For a deeper dive into understanding the impact of your data, use the new Advanced Filtering feature to answer more of your burning questions!
How to Use
- In the idea grid, click the Filter tab to pop-out your filter menu. At the bottom of this menu, you will see an "Advanced Filter" button.
- Notice that once you select Advanced Filters, all of the items selected in your filters will transfer into the advanced filtering section. Once applying an advanced filter, you are entering a "advanced filter mode". Any filter criteria performed with our basic filter criteria can also be done via advanced filters.
- Click "Add filter" and select which filters you wish to apply. Most of these filters have boolean options to help you address your specific questions. Once a filter is added to the builder, it is grayed out and unselectable from the filter picklist.
- Once you are happy with your filter options, click "Apply filters"!
Note: "Clear filters" will remove all filters in the advanced filter list and revert back to basic filtering.
"Revert changes" will remove the recent changes and revert back to the previously saved filter.
New Filters Introduced
There are a few new filters available in the advanced filter builder. Those include:
- Account Name: Filter for ideas based on whether or not they are supported by an individual account or multiple accounts.
- # of Total Votes: Filter for ideas based on the number of votes recorded in a specific timeframe.
- # of Total Comments: Filter for ideas based on the number of comments recorded in a specific timeframe.
- # of Total Accounts: Filter for ideas based on the number of Accounts supporting those ideas in a specific timeframe.
- # of Total Importance Responses: Filter for ideas based on the number of importance responses recorded in a specific timeframe.
- Idea creation date: Filter for ideas created in a specific timeframe.
- Public status last updated date: Filter for ideas based on the last time a public status update was performed.
- Internal status last updated date: Filter for ideas based on the last time an internal status update was performed.
Important things to consider when using advanced filtering
- Activity filters such as: # of total accounts, # of total comments, # of total votes, and # of importance response cannot have different date ranges. When more than one of these filters are added to the advanced filter builder, you will notice that updating the date range for one filter will automatically update the range for the other(s).
- Also, the main date picker in the top nav of the idea grid will always match whatever date range is set for these filters. This is how we get these numbers on the grid to update based on activity during that time period set via advanced filters.

- Created & Updated Filters such as Public/Internal Status last updated dates, and Idea Creation dates are independent of the dates set in the activity filters mentioned above and independent from one another.
- Label filtering now has 3 operator options for advanced filtering
- Is any of
- Is none of
- Is all of
- This is a new addition meant to address the use case of filtering on ideas containing more than one label with an AND instead of OR logic
